25 years ago Andy and Denise Holt decided to set up a new company. The idea was simple: use all of their knowledge and experience in industrial and commercial doors and roller shutters to start a family business. But not just like any other business, one with a very simple ethos – provide an exceptional customer service at an average cost. That’s it, no fancy marketing or expensive advertising, no plush offices or executive company cars, just get the job done on time, first time and let customers do the talking for us.
So not the most complex business strategy but a very effective way to build a business. And the business has certainly grown. Word of mouth and recommendations have enabled us to steadily expand. 90% of all customers have stayed with us and many more have joined us as our reputation has grown. A steady rather than a rapid expansion has been our way because there is nothing more important than staying true to that simple ethos. And that means taking time to recruit the best engineers – who also share our ethos, ensuring things are done the right way – to the required British Standards and being led by customers not office burocracy.

We remain a family owned business dedicated to providing exceptional customer service at a fair price, nothing will ever change that. But we do have more plans:
We have launched our apprenticeship programme training young people to be specialist door engineers
As demand has increased so much from schools we now have a dedicated schools engineer
We continue to embrace digital moving to a paperless office and so doing our bit for the environment and providing an even better service for customers and suppliers
We are working to wards full ISO9001 accreditation
